Going Cuckoo on Your Wedding

It was so much fun to attend my friend’s wedding last Friday. It was a wonderful affair and I’m always delighted to see such a happy bride and groom. They also delightfully decorated their wedding day. The couple were big lovers of birds, so they had that playing as one of the main themes throughout their decor. They even got a really cute canary designed wedding toppers to represent them. The funny thing was that one of the ring bearer wanted to have a wedding topper as well. So he put his newly received engraved silver plated train bank on top of one of the smaller cakes. Nobody even realized what he was trying to do until it was too late. It caused quite a good laugh when guests saw the cake and the train wedding topper sunk shabbily on top with the boy beaming proudly of his work.

The Wedding Letter

We couldn’t go to the wedding of my husband’s closest cousin as it was going to be miles away. Our finances just can’t allot for a budge of traveling to another country with three other kids in tow. But we did offer to pay for some of the things the bride and groom needed for their wedding such as their Gold Swirl Invitation Kit and a portion of the food for the reception, along with the other cousins who also cannot go. This, we think, is more practical than any other gift possible.

The Mismatched Affair

Wedding days are always so hectic. Everything feels like a rush and it’s hard to think straight when only a couple of hours stand between you being a Miss to becoming a full blown Mrs. There are brides that take the pressure into stride and handle the event without breaking a sweat, while others, well, let’s just say they don’t handle it very well. One example was when my friend’s cousin got hitched. She had everything planned the day before. On the day of the event, she had on her gorgeous mid-calf gown along with her personalized heart charm rhinestone toggle bracelet and gorgeously arranged her hair in a loose bun.

The Reluctant Bride & Groom

It is very normal for the bride and the groom to feel a little bit of reluctance in the middle of the wedding preparation. The stress of it all may be the whole cause of it and it may be the littlest of things that can cause one to break down. Like having to debate over whether a personalized sand unity vase is better than a unity candle. Or going with the salmon for the chicken, when it comes to the food at the reception.

One of the hottest wedding gown trends that have come up in the recent years are short wedding dresses. Now, for traditional brides, they often think that short wedding gowns are a little too informal. Sure, they would still go perfectly with your crystal raindrop jewelry set, but some brides feel that wedding gowns shouldn’t be short at all. Nevertheless, there are several reasons why wearing a short wedding gown is advantageous.

2494112937_cee99c831c_mYou’ve probably thinking of getting a personalized women’s cosmetic bag for your bridal entourage. It may be a good idea to get another one for yourself. Trust me, you will need it on the day of your wedding.

Imagine this…

You would have to have yourself get all perfectly dolled up for this big day. In the middle of the ceremony, you will most likely be moved to tears by the vows you and your husband are going to say to each other. You will probably be moved to tears looking at your parents. It’s going to ruin your make-up….and you still have hundreds of photos to be taken afterwards.

Have You Considered Getting Wedding Insurance?

One of the things a bride and groom hardly considers when planning a wedding is to avail of some sort of wedding insurance. I think it’s easy to understand why. It’s added wedding planning cost that most couples don’t really have a budget for. But, when you think about it, it does eventually become a wise investment.

The thing with insurance is that it doesn’t matter if you want to get coverage for either a large or small wedding. Everything is possible. There is something for every type. And you can basically get coverage for anything such as the photographer’s fee, traveling to the wedding venue, the flower arrangements, your wedding accessories such as that engraved beveled glass jewelry box for the bride’s wedding tiara.

Celebrating Your Big Day with Wedding China

To some people, it might seem a little too formal, but using wedding China can enhance the beauty of your wedding ceremony. Just because you pay attention to other details in your wedding doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t pay attention to the dinnerware that you’ll use to serve your guests. Besides, it can go along perfectly with your royal toasting flutes & cake knife serving set.

Would You Go for a Bridal Boudoir Shoot?

This might seem like something no bride in the right mind would want to do, or maybe should do, but then again there are actually some brides that want to have a boudoir shoot like this and give it as a surprise present to their grooms. Although it has its detractors, boudoir bridal photography has been gaining popularity among brides to be. Of course, having a photo shoot  like this means that you will get to show off your ivory eleanor lace garter. For those who are unfamiliar, what is a boudoir photoshoot anyway?

How To Pick Your Bridesmaid

pastel-bridesmaid-dressesPicking out your bridesmaid may not be easy as picking out a personalized bridesmaid gift frame. There are plenty of considerations involved, the most important of which is in knowing if your bridesmaid can measure up to the obligation.

Most of the time, brides pick out the obligatory bridesmaid, meaning those that become one by virtue of the fact that they are the groom’s sister or the bride’s cousin. The problem with this is that, they may not at all be up to the task, nor do they have an inkling on what to do or what the bride wants. The best way to deal with this is to first ask the sister or the cousin politely by telling them of what their role will be.

Deciding on Engagement Photoshoots

It’s often tough to create gorgeous wedding pictures or even engagement shoots. However, with a good photographer and solid theme going on, you can almost never go wrong. Take my friend, for instance, they recently had an engagement shoot for their wedding day this coming March. They hired a photographer friend who was very kind enough to help them out with their shoot. The whole theme of the wedding was to go for that end of winter look, hence, they incorporated that in their engagement photos. The couple went to a small lake near the woods and they had the shoot there. I was lucky enough to see the pictures afterward and it was stunning. I gave my friend a  beaded matte silver photo album, so she can post this one picture of them in there.

Dogs at the Wedding?

We received our son’s ring bearer gift the other week. He got a Personalized Rawlings Mini Baseball Bat from close friends of mine who have taken a liking to my youngest boy ever since he was a baby. But he isn’t the only ring bearer in the entourage. The couple has also decided to include their dog in the party. I was told that my son would have to be stringing him along, as he walks down the aisle. I’m not very sure he can do that, though. My son is not afraid of dogs, but he’s still a stranger to the couple’s dogs. So, we’re arranging for some bonding time with them. I think that’s cute.

Going Green on Your Wedding

If you feel like protecting the environment, even when you conduct your wedding day, then it is important to know that you won’t need to sacrifice style just to go ahead and get the wedding of your dreams. There are many ways that you can celebrate your big day and still save the environment at the same time. For instance, you can use a purple handmade paper invitation kit for the invites. If you want to emphasize the fact that your wedding is good for the environment, it would also help if you drive home to your guests that your wedding is celebrating in an eco-friendly style. You can also choose rings that are recycled. There are plenty of jewelers that offer recycled gold or silver as well as fair labor stones.

Huge Wedding Or Intimate Wedding?

Someone threw this question out on Twitter, wondering if  it was weird of her to want a wedding without all the of the  ”hoopla”. By hoopla, she meant having 500 guests,  wearing a traditional wedding gown, having the right number of entourage at the party and having everything down to pat including a royal toasting flutes & cake knife serving set for the wedding cake unveiling.

I immediately shot her a reply saying that I would prefer a small wedding myself and to away with traditions. I told her that the fact of the matter is, it’s your wedding, you can basically do whatever you want.

Grooms and Dancing

Okay, I’m thinking about giving my cousin, Jake, this wedding day dancing DVD in preparation for his own big day next month. It’s no secret to us, his family, that he’s no Grace Kelly on the dance floor. In fact, the cousins and friends who have danced with him will attest to the fact that you are better off wearing highly protective steel boots when dancing with him, unless you want to suffer through the pain of getting stepped on every two seconds. Even though it’s partly a joke, even he would admit that he was born with two left feet, since he always steps on people’s shoes when attempting to dance.

Getting Into Your Punk Rock Wedding

Last week, I was able to attend a wedding by one of my highschool friends. I always knew that my friend’s personality was unique. She was the head of art club in highschool and even though we haven’t seen each other for quite some time, I always knew that she was going to pursue something artistic. Hence, I wasn’t very surprised when I saw her again and her arms were full of tattoos. It turns out, she’s a tattoo artist now and met her husband who’s also in the same industry as a tattoo artist. She then told me that she wants to have a slightly punk rock wedding as her theme. Being the photographer, I knew I was in for a challenge. We still have to discuss the details at another meeting, so as of the moment I’m trying to come up with something special to give them. I’m looking at getting her the elegant chiffon collection that I found online.

Getting the Heat for Your Wedding Gown

My cousin just announced her wedding plans to the entire family over the weekend and most of us couldn’t be any happier about this announcement. When she went on to detail the rest of her plans, about how she wants to go ahead and wear a black and red dress for her wedding instead of the traditional white and how she’s going to want the rest of her wedding to reflect her current position as a makeup artist for cirque de soleil. She, of course, wanted her wedding to reflect what she loved all her life, the allure of cirque de soleil. When her parent’s heard about what she wanted to do, they naturally opposed her, especially since she’s wearing a red wedding gown and not the traditional white. The only thing that they agreed on was the unique rhinestone cake letters that the couple wanted to have on the wedding cake. Everything else, they dismissed.

Valuable Tips About Re-Gifting Wedding Presents

The problem with personalized gifts, such as one that’s an engraved stainless steel key chain bottle opener, with the name of the receiver on it, for example, is that you can never be able to re-gift them. In today’s trends, re-gifting is actually quite acceptable. Except that some people are just too careless to do it the right way.

Getting That 1920s Wedding Look

There is denying that the vintage look is certainly popular among brides. Whether it’s the glam of the 70s to the vintage style of the 20s, it’s certainly a big hit for most brides walking down the aisle this season. Even though some people might find the roaring style of the 20’s certainly a little too gaudy for the wedding look, there are other brides proving them wrong. For instance, your white ribbon garter can work well with your vintage flapper inspired wedding gown.
