Hands On Grooms, Anyone?

At my friend’s wedding reception that I attended, she proudly told everyone that her groom was “hands on” in the wedding planning. It’s quite rare to hear something like that, as we know most men would rather leave all the details to the bride.  But I think it’s a good idea to get the groom involved to lessen the stress that comes with all the nitty gritty details that have to be taken care of. For one, he’ll do a better job in choosing the groomsmen’s gifts, like engraved army knives which are just the perfect manly gift.

Trying to find out what’s going on inside the mind of an almost married man  isn’t really that difficult. I understand why some grooms would rather take the back seat during wedding plannings. Most are probably worried that they’ll just confuse their fiance if they give their opinions on everything, from the flowers to the choice of centerpiece to the dinner menu. The others well, maybe they just don’t really care enough to get into the tedious planning and would rather watch the games!

Well, if you’re more like the groom who would prefer not to be bothered with too many details, don’t be surprised when all of a sudden the once glamorous and serene girl you proposed to turns into a wild bridezilla days before the wedding! Every little ounce of help will go a long way, and your bride will surely appreciate any effort coming from you to show that you care enough to get involved every step of the way.
