Finding Perfect Gifts for Your Ringbearer

My cousin Sally’s wedding day is on Saturday and everything’s almost set. The only thing we’re all worried about now is Tod, our 3 year old nephew and the ringbearer,  who may just suddenly throw a fit during the ceremony and decide he doesn’t want to walk down the aisle in front of all those people!

Well, we needed to be creative so we decided to get Tod a “motivation gift” (a better word than a “bribe”) so he would be encouraged to do his role on the wedding day. He’s always been fond of baseball, so we thought getting him this personalized mini baseball bat will just do the trick.

Sure enough, the baseball bat worked like a charm and Tod was in high spirits during the wedding rehearsal!

There are other ways to motivate our kids to do the things expected of them. Giving them something they want may seem like bribery, but it is also a form of rewarding their efforts so that he would know that he is being appreciated for his good deed.

When choosing the perfect gift for your ringbearer, remember that you’re dealing with a little kid who may be confused with everything that’s going on.  Make him understand how important his role is in the ceremony and reward his efforts by giving him a gift that not only shows your appreciation of him, but also shows that you care enough to give him something he would appreciate as well.
