Coaxing Your Groom to Get Involved in the Wedding Plans
Grooms today are finally coming out of their shell and getting involved in their own wedding. Okay, sometimes it happens because the bride is pulling them out from the other side. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that the “husband-to-be” are pulling in their fair share of the load. I remember when I got married, apart from the occasional “help” in deciding people on the guest list and picking out our Laura Ashley Green Backer Invitation Kit, my husband did not help with anything. I’m not really blaming him, the specifics just wasn’t something that concerned him. All he wanted was to walk down the aisle and say “I Do” and then get it over with. And okay, I must admit, my inner bridezilla might have reared its head once or twice over some mundane details. I think this helped to just make him prefer to stand aside.
Today, however, brides are more encouraging (and often demanding) that their groom get involved in the wedding plans. If you have no idea what or how to get them involved, start by assigning them a task that will be interesting. For instance, you can ask them to help pick out wedding toppers or even the cake itself like one blogger suggests. Doing this will make your groom feel a part of the whole process and this will also strengthen your relationship since it will help you guys come up with decisions together.
