Helping the Couple Deal With Wedding Anxiety
On top of all the wedding preparations, from making sure that the church arrangements, to the food, down to the small and minute details like having the right contemporary serving set, the people around the marrying couple have to always be in the lookout for the bride or groom’s display of emotion.
I’m not kidding. Wedding preparations are stressful times. Studies have shown and proven this. The couple getting married are battling with so much emotion that anxiety is actually very common. Some even get cold feet and question their intentions for getting married.
Now, this is where close friends and family come really important. The support system around the couple should be very comforting and intact, so that they do not disintegrate and call off the wedding for the wrong reasons. Those around them should be able to provide an avenue or a channel to allow the couple to talk it out and air what they are feeling. Some of it is obviously stress-related, so talking, talking and more talking should actually help. Some of them may even feel reluctant to share. But in letting the couple know that their physical health and emotional well-being is also important at this time, this should encourage them to speak up and share their thoughts.
So be a dear friend or family, and let the bride and groom know you are also there not just for the wedding preparations but for their well-being.
