Huge Wedding Or Intimate Wedding?
Someone threw this question out on Twitter, wondering if it was weird of her to want a wedding without all the of the ”hoopla”. By hoopla, she meant having 500 guests, wearing a traditional wedding gown, having the right number of entourage at the party and having everything down to pat including a royal toasting flutes & cake knife serving set for the wedding cake unveiling.
I immediately shot her a reply saying that I would prefer a small wedding myself and to away with traditions. I told her that the fact of the matter is, it’s your wedding, you can basically do whatever you want.
This reminded me of this article I read on this site and so many brides have, in fact, chosen to have a simple wedding than a grand one. The replies have actually been overwhelming.
Sometimes, though, with big families…. having a small wedding may be impossible to do. This can be harder for brides and groom to do and I think that it would entail a lot of compromising and give and take between the couple’s families.
In the end though, it really boils down to what the couple wants, and more importantly, what the bride wants…if you want a small wedding, then go for it. It’s your special day, so you call all the shots.
