Tripping on Aisle Runners
If there was one part of the wedding decor that I wish I would not have encountered, it would have to be aisle runners. I guess, my own bad experience with the runners has left a bitter taste in my mouth. The thing is that for our wedding, we had originally planned to have aisle runners in the center aisle. It was a customized runner in a starlight design which matched the starlight ring pillow we had as well as the entire motif of the wedding. When we had the rehearsal night, we were able to hold it in the chapel where the wedding was going to be taken place, hence, the runners were in place and all. There I was marching down the aisle with the great church organ playing, and then halfway across, my heel snagged and down I fell face flat on the floor.
I was okay, luckily. We were just thankful that it was at the rehearsal and not at the wedding day itself. Hence, my then groom decided to just let go of the wedding runners and then just completely walk down the aisle. Although it was hard to see $400 go to waste, at least I managed to reach the altar unscathed on my wedding day. Therefore, I always have my hesitations when brides tell me they’re going to have a wedding runner. I think that no matter how gorgeous they are, or how they look, it’s still a big risk.
