Speech! Speech! Speech!

The thing I find most awkward about  weddings are the  speeches. I find this more awkward than getting that traditional exchange between the groomsmen and the bridesmaid, where the groomsman tries to remove the White Ribbon Garter from her thighs.

The speeches can either go really well or really bad. And in most cases, it’s bad because there was little preparation involved. Of course, every person standing to give a speech on that big day, would like to do it so perfectly and also, without sounding too cheesy.

For the bride and groom, it would be best to sit down together when you decide to compose your wedding speeches. You don’t necessarily have to hear each other out, especially if you would like to keep the speech a surprise, but it would be nice to do a little coordination, so that you could get some facts straighten (like how you first met, or how the first date went).

Doing something together for the wedding, I think, also helps strengthen your bond as a couple. I can imagine this would be something memorable the two of you can do together, sort of like a reflection into your relationship, before finally becoming man and wife.
