How To Tell Guests The Wedding is Off

Nobody likes to cancel weddings and it’s probably one of the most difficult things to get through. But these things do happen, reality strikes and brides and grooms call off the wedding. As much as the preparations to the wedding have been set, with everything ready from the Sweet Bow Flower Basket to the last pieces of china at the wedding reception, all these will have to be cancelled out or returned, or kept and locked away for good.

How to tell the guests when the wedding has been cancelled is never easy but when you find yourself in this position, always remember to be discrete as possible. There is no need to get into the details, there is no need to go into the drama of it. People are naturally going to be curious about what happened and that’s alright. You don’t owe the guests detailed explanation, but you do owe them the announcement of your wedding cancellation.

If the invitations have been sent out, you must immediately follow this up with the announcement by mail. If the wedding is days away, it’s best to make calls instead. Ask your relative’s help in getting in touch with your guests especially if you expect hundreds are coming.
