The Big Fishing Trip
Caught up with my friend, Lisa, the other day. She was telling me how she was very excited for her upcoming wedding, but that there was one thing that she was dreading before the entire event. What was this big event? Her Dad hanging out with her future hubby – for the entire weekend! They got the biggest surprise when her dad suddenly gave his man a ring and asked him if he wanted to go fishing. He, of course, said yes. And soon enough, he received a nice personalized walleye cabin sign, complete with some fishing hooks. Now, it would have been okay, I guess, if both were fishing enthusiasts. The problem, and this is what my friend is anxious about, is that her groom does not know how to fish at all. He didn’t want to say no to his father-in-law simply because he thought it would be rude. Hence, he’s going fishing next week!
Now, he’s trying to take in every possible information on how to actually fish. While some men might prefer to simply get together on a pool table, drink beer or simply play poker, fishing is something that’s special to Lisa’s dad. This is something that he wants to get across his son-in-law, hence he gave that cabin sign as an advanced gift for the groom. I think he’s also planning some fishing paraphernalia as a gift for the groomsmen. Hopefully, their fishing trip won’t be such a disaster, but I have a feeling it’s going to turn out fine anyway.
