Getting an Eco Friendly Wedding Cake
Okay, I admit, my husband is an environmentalist. I also like doing my part although I’m not as “hardcore” as he is when it comes to saving the planet. (I’m working on it, don’t worry.) He was the one who campaigned for a good recycling system not only in our home, but also in our church and now, he’s extending it to the community. He always tells me to avoid buying items that are made of plastic or any harmful chemicals and are not really recyclable. In fact, he would rarely buy things that are inorganic or can’t be recycled properly. Hence, it wasn’t a surprise when one time he was drinking from his monogram cigar personalized beer stein, that he told me my sister should start offering vegan or organic wedding cakes in her bake shop.
Apparently, his friend from work, who also happens to be an environmentalist, is looking for an alternative to the regular wedding cakes. I thought that he might have something with this, so I brought it up with my sister. We realized that there are a good number of Vegan bakeries out there offering tasty desserts and cakes using all natural products. There are also bakeries that offer organic cakes that may use animal fat or animal based products, but these are usually of higher quality than most other regular cakes.
