Wedding Economics: How Every Budget Is Shrinking
There’s a trend I’ve been observing about weddings these days in that more and more couples seem to be economizing when it comes to their gifts or give aways. I’ve been to a pre-wedding party once where the bride and groom gave guests these Custom Bride & Groom Shot Glasses (Set of 2). Now, it wasn’t exactly what one would normally expect to get at wedding right? A few seats next to us, I heard an elderly couple complain that it was all they got from the wedding, when they used to get such lavish wedding tokens before. But you know, who can blame the couple? With the way prices are skyrocketing these days, truly the gesture of giving the token, which is sort of like a souvenir, rather than the actual gift itself, should matter the most.
Even the guests are economizing. Few people actually are very gallant about their wedding presents these days because everything is so expensive really. I myself have to have a wedding budget. Because if I have some five friends getting married in a space of one year, I will not be able to afford getting them presents, let alone attending their wedding.
What about you? Have you noticed how much people have started to economize when it comes to weddings?
