Wedding Roles and Obligations
The roles people play in the wedding vary with family. The responsibilities and financial obligation are usually divided between them. Deciding on who gets to pay for the most expensive items like the wedding gown and the reception, down to the simplest of requirements such as the Cake Toppers have to be carefully planned out. Some families like to adapt to different arrangements, but there are those that still stick to age old traditions about the roles each one plays at the wedding.
For instance, it is usually the father and mother of the bride who takes care of paying for the wedding and the reception. It is also on the hands of the mother of the bride to help pick out the wedding dress, flower arrangements and cake. The groom’s family on the other hand is responsible for paying for the rehearsal dinner as well as some accommodations of guests who may be from out of town.
The Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids are responsible for also assisting the bride during fittings and cake testings, as well as throwing the bridal shower. The Groomsmen, on the other hand, must assist the groom during his fittings and should be the one to organize his bachelor party. They may pay for their own dresses or they may be shouldered by the families of the couple
