The Wedding Processional Order
How the order in which the wedding entourage marches down the aisle actually depends on what the couple want, their religion, or the kind of wedding they are holding. Less formal weddings often veer of from the traditional. I’ve seen a wedding where the first to come out was the flower girl carrying her beach flower girl basket. She set the mood for how the wedding is going to be.
But, traditionally this is how the order of things go:
The person officiating the wedding comes out first, followed by the bestman and then the groom and his parents. As soon as they’ve taken their places, the groomsmen enter the area next, this group will be followed by the bridesmaid. Sometimes, these set walk together as pairs. After which, the ring bearer and the flower girl walk down the aisle, either together or separately as well. Then the maid of honor comes out, followed, lastly, by the bride who can either walk alone or have her father or both her parents walking with her. If the parents are not walking with her, they will walk before the maid of honor comes out.
This is basically the proper order for the wedding processional.
