Is Wearing a Black Wedding Gown Appropriate?
Weddings are big and traditional events. They are meant to celebrate the union of a man and woman under the eyes of the church and the witness of the public. However, as time passed, weddings have also changed. There are less brides that are traditional and are even preferring to wear those personalized flip flops as opposed to an elegant looking pair of wedding shoes. Hence, it is really no surprise to see brides marching down the aisle not wearing the traditional white wedding gown. Although this seems to be a primary identifying factor when it comes to weddings, there is no denying that more brides are putting their own twist to their wedding.
Perhaps one of the most controversial colors to grace a wedding gown would be black. Despite the elegance that the color exudes, most people still think that it does not have a place in an actual wedding. For brides that could not care less, there are plenty of black wedding gowns that will definitely make them feel like a million bucks as they walk down that long aisle. Wearing a black dress to your wedding is a personal decision, but I think it would be best to give your groom a heads up. You’ll never know if he still prefers to see you in that traditional white dress.
