A Mother’s Day Wedding Day
The Mother of the Bride….while she most certainly stays behind the background, she is, in fact, the anchor the bride needs to stay grounded the whole time the wedding preparation is going on. She is the glue that holds my cousin, a bride who will be holding her wedding this Mother’s Day, together. While my cousin is the main star, my aunt (her mother) is going to play the supporting star.
As a gift, we got her this Personalized Mother’s Day Mom Above All Else Coffee Mugs to be given away at the wedding, too. Her daughter has made it a point to include a small portion about her in the wedding program, which I think is a very nice gesture.
The relationship between these two ladies is totally awesome. My aunt has raised my cousin literally all by herself the whole time her husband was away, stationed in the military. And when he died very early in her daughter’s life, she was truly on her own, never even thinking of remarrying, but focusing all her time and devotion to her daughter.
This wedding has been flawlessly arranged by my cousin with the help of her mother. She actually chose this day for this very reason: to celebrate Mother’s Day and her wedding day together.
Don’t you just love a mother-daughter story like that?
