A Steampunk Styled Wedding
Although wedding themes are quite common, it’s not everyday that you actually see a wedding that celebrates a science fiction theme like Steampunk. One family friend of ours really wants to celebrate her wedding this way, she thinks that a Victorian style wedding with a touch of steampunk would be perfect. She’s even thought about getting an engraved stainless steel lock-back knife as a wedding giveaway.
For the unfamiliar, Steampunk is actually a sub-genre of science fiction and speculative fiction. It incorporates elements of fantasy and science and molds them within the genre. The whole idea became a popular notion back in the 1980s and 1990s. Essentially, it revolves around an era where steam was still used to power up most of the things that mankind uses today. My friend loves the idea of molding this theme into her own wedding and from the looks of things, her husband is not going to be complaining since he’s an avid lover of the genre himself.
Celebrating in this style might be a bit out of the box but it does make for a gorgeous looking wedding still. More than that, it’s a great way to have fun even when celebrating one of the most hectic yet special days of your life.
